Welcome!
My goal is to enlist your ongoing help on behalf of all of the children of our community as I seek to continue serving as your Marin County Superintendent of Schools. On this page, you will find information about how you can help to build on what we have already accomplished together.
These are the most critical times public education has ever faced and we must work together to maintain what has been achieved and to insist that our children are given their maximum opportunity to be educated for life. Nothing less is acceptable.
During the coming four years, I will continue to devote all of my energy, abilities and resolve to working with parents, local school districts, businesses, nonprofit agencies, government and all residents of our Marin County community in the following ways:

Provide continuing leadership in programs that meet the needs of all students from early childhood through adulthood—programs that close the “achievement gap” and motivate each student to remain in school.

Work to obtain adequate funding for our schools—funding that is stable and predictable and does not make our children victims of political inaction or partisan gridlock.

Recruit and retain the best and brightest teachers, support staff and administrators.

Insure that every school district in Marin County remains financially sound and seeks every opportunity to share services with other districts.

Maintain the focus of our entire community on education as the priority and the responsibility of every resident so that our children thrive and gain the knowledge, skills and values that will prepare them for life in a community that is safe, nurturing and healthy.
Marin County schools are strong. Yet, we can never be satisfied until all students achieve their maximum potential and not one student is lost. I need your help in working with me to achieve this goal. I would be honored by your support and by the opportunity to continue as your Marin County Superintendent of Schools.
